A song about Smart's Lumber Mill which was owned by my grandfather and has since fallen into a state of abandoned disrepair since the collapse of the forestry industry in Newfoundland.

The industry has crumbled
Succumbed to economic turmoil
At the behest of sordid flames
Tearing down tracts of livelihood

My grandfather built this mill
He carved it with his bare hands

But now it sits a desolate husk

Abandoned for more than a decade
Falling apart, ripped at the seams
