Is the vapor pierced with a cry of death
Or do the branches fall on senses of the deaf?

When the limbs are drenched in the dew of dawn
And buds and acorns wreak scents of ages past
Does the common man transcend the instinct
Or will he set a fire within the beating heart of life?

The damp forest cries in anguish
Waves of red lash at the branches
Dunes of august lacerate the bark
Machine of man reaps doom in its wake

An ocean upon land
